Surrounded by a sal forest and on the banks of river Yamuna, the histroic town
of paonta Sahib (398) was founded by the tenth sikh guru, Guru Govinda singh.
When only 16years old, the Guru left Anandpur Sahib and on the invitation of
Raja Maidini Prakash of Sirmour, lived at this beautiful spot for over 4 years.
The historic gurudwara comemorates his stay and interestingly the water of the
Yamuna fall slient below this which happened at the Guru's behest. He world

Getting there:
Paonta sahib is connected by road. From renukaji it is 81km via Nahan and 60km
via rajaban, From Dehradun it is 44km the closest railheads are at Ambala and
Dehredun. The nearest airports are at Chandigarh and Deradun. Tais buses are
available for paonta sahib at all places.
